The Streamlight Protac 2L-X is a 500 lumin, single 18650 or dual CR123A EDC flashlight. It features a 6000 series aircraft aluminum body with Type II MIL-Spec anodized finish. It also utilizes Streamlight's Ten Tap programmable switch. The bulb is a C4 LED rated for 50,000 hours. What does all of this mean? It is quite possibly the best EDC flashlight on the market. If you compare the features of this light against its competitors, you will find that it stands as an excellent, very capable light that won't break the bank. Streamlight has long been known to provide professional quality products, some of which are standard issue for first responders. Many of our active duty military members trust their lives to these flashlights as well. I myself carried a Streamlight during my years as a Master at Arms in the U.S. Navy. Streamlight has a pedigree that is unmatched in the industry. As a professional industrial sales manager, I have spec'd and supplied many large companies, along with small businesses and local government workers, with streamlight products for many years. I have never had a single light returned, and my customers LOVED them. My Protac 2L-X goes everywhere that I go, including to Mt. Rushmore last night. It was dark and the evening lighting ceremony hadn't begun yet. On a whim, I decided to test my favorite little flashlight on the Presidents themselves! It was very dark and you could barely see the outlines of the faces. I tapped my brightness to high and shone it at the carvings. With the naked eye, you could clearly see features on the faces. Though it wasn't exactly a spotlight, if it can light 60 foot tall sculptures from several hundred yards away at a viewing platform, imagine what it can do for your daily needs? Buy this flashlight. You will get years of service and one bombproof flashlight!

I use at work as a night shift aircraft mechanic. The clip has never lost grip strength. It is bright, allowing for confident inspection of aircraft in all kinds of weather. It has been dropped from waist height and no problems. Great grip texture. I bought one for my recent civil engineer graduate for pipe and structure inspection.
Battery life is good. Be mindful if you travel via commercial airlines you will not be allowed to ship because of the lith-ion batteries fire hazard. I think most will allow carry on though.
The strobe feature is great also for signaling uber drivers that cannot find the gate entrance you need them at as well as marshaling aircraft when wands are not available.

As a firefighter a good source of light is paramount to me. This flashlight fits the bill perfectly. Strong, solid and I'm assuming, built to last. (We'll see). It has a nice feel and does exactly what its supposed to do. One thing, two actually, the control button is a wee bit small to manipulate easily with a (structural) gloved hand and the switch can be a little "twitchy" going from one mode to the other. I will say this, if I lose mine, I am buying another one.

In my experience the 2L-X can't be beat. Ultra light weight, small, pocket sized, and all the modes I need. I got it as an extra light for my mechanic work as well as an edc light and it works great as both. Lights up my whole apartment on high at night. Couldn't have found anything better for the price!

This light is excellent for EDC. Initially I was one of the Surefire fan boys that did not like clicky tail caps but have since kept an open mind. This light is small enough to carry yet you are still able to get your whole hand on it (depending on hand size). The clip design allows you to carry bezel down without the light being exposed from the pocket. I carry mine in my left back pocket and I wear it everyday. I have been skeptical of Streamlight but as of light they have come out with some good durable lights.

I have always owned streamlight products, due to their durability and longevity. This light is very impressive for its size and brightness. I would recommend this light, it fits perfectly in a dual magazine holder, so 1 light and 1 magazine, I'm covered.

I like this light, I had a 2L which only takes 2 CR123A's and I like it but the batteries are expensive if you use very many. This however is basically the same light but you can use the rechargeable 18650's with it or the cr123 A's.

I use this as a mountable light source on my CZ Scorpion. Perfect size, weight and profile. The 500 lumens and beam reach is a 10 on tactical advantage.

Not too big, not too small. Very bright. Long battery life and takes rechargables. I don't know what else I could ask for.
Very good.
