Streamlight's compact ProTac HL Professional Tactical Light is a lightweight, programmable flashlight that emits a high-power 600-lumen beam, visible at 253 meters at its highest setting. It incorporates intuitive Ten-Tap programming to adjust between three settings, each of which produces a different level of light. The high setting emits the 600-lumen heavy-duty beam, but the flashlight can be set to a 33-lumen level, which has an 18-hour runtime. C4 LED technology provides maximum illumination for any situation, and is shock-resistant as well. This compact model also features a push-button switch at the tail and an anti-roll head, making one-handed operation simple. The aluminum construction and o-ring sealed glass lens are ultra-durable, and come with a removable pocket clip and nylon holster for easy carry.

Excellent for emergencies. Provides a solid advantage in possibly confrontational situations, even on sunny day.
Feels solid in hand and gives you some assurance, when you need to break something, like a car window , for example, that it will do just that.
It is best to carry in the provided holster, by my experience. I found, that for me, the pocket clip is too short and week to keep it securely in the pocket or on the belt when i move around a lot. After a little tumble, I did not know where it was.
What could be better:
A. Clip:
1. could be stronger
2. Lead-on at the tip can be longer. As it is, it is difficult to engage

B. Flats on the perimeter of the head, that are supposed to prevent rolling, are not effective.

The same day I received my flashlight order, my husband decided to buy me another brand of flashlight that he decided would be better since it could be charged via a USB port (half the lumens of mine). My flashlight worked right out of the box and the one he bought, after charging all night, did not work at all. So glad I went with a battery-operated, as now I have a very bright and very easy flashlight to use to investigate those "bumps in the night" that occur in our country setting.

I own this flashlight and the Surefire Fury (500 / 15 Lumens). This is brighter than it but not by much even though it states it has 150 more lumens (650). Either way it feels solid and is a very nice light. Especially considering it costs half of my Surefire.

This light's brightness is amazing! The battery run time on high is suffient and cr123 batteries are well worth buying. I would grab an extra set just to have. Very high quality construction. I have dropped mine several times with no damage. It is also mountable which is great. I only wish I had another one. No one should have any reservations about buying this quality light!

I haven't really delved into what this can do yet. The strobe is just nasty, if someone is epileptic they'll probably go down. And it is bright as hell. I can shine my old light behind my house and see the predators sneaking in on my chicken house across the field. This light blasts across the field and into the woods which is about 150 yards. Happy, Happy Happy!

I bought my the ProTac HL a few months ago and I have been really impressed with it. It is very bright on the high setting - more than enough for tactical sweeps, and disorienting at close range, especially with the use of the strobe effect. The low setting is a good working brightness. The tap-to-select feature of the thumb cap button takes a little getting used to, and some finesse, but works well once you get comfortable with it. The clip is effective and seems to be holding up well. The frame is tough and compact, and fits solidly in the hand. This light has the all toughness and features of some of the (much) more expensive lights I've owned and overall, on a lumens per dollar basis, it's hard to beat.

This is the most awesome flashlight I have ever owned. I will buy no other.
It has a sturdy case, belt holder, batteries (most normally priced don't come with batteries). It is extremely easy to handle and makes the best tool to add to your personal protection package.

Very good light and I like the three-way setting. The only issue keeping from 5-Star rating is the light settings. It would make more sense to have the lower intensity light setting first, then higher setting and then the strobe. Other than that, a pretty good light.
