Based on one of Bates' most popular designs, the new Tactical Sport line incorporates athletic cement construction to provide a flexible, high-performance fit in a hard-working tactical boot. The leather and nylon upper is ultra-durable, but the lightweight construction makes for a heavy-duty boot with the functionality and breathability of a running shoe. The cushioned midsole and removable insole offer comfort and stability for long days on the job, while the mesh lining promotes ventilation to keep your feet cool. The lightweight design, athletic fit, superior arch and heel support and tactical functionality make the 8" Tactical Sport SZ an ideal universal work boot. This model features a YKK side zipper for convenience.

Actually, this is my second pair that I purchased. I loved my first pair so much I worried whether I'd ever be able to get the same thing again. You know how everyone changes styles etc. So I bought the second pair so that if the first pair ever wears out then I know that I still have a pair. I wore them all last year in all kinds of weather and they still look brand new. They are very warm and extremely comfortable. I wore them right out of the box. Also, they don't add 5 pounds to your feet like other boots. You don't even know you are wearing boots. I wear them with everything including shorts. Everyone who sees them loves them. Buy a pair, you won't be sorry.

I ordered this boot for work. Because this was a new site, I ordered my true shoe size which is a 7.5. I could have actually went down a half size and ordered a 7. This boot is sturdy but light weight. I wanted a boot that would protect my feet from the rain, sleet and snow of the Chicago weather and that is exactly what I got from this boot.

I typically love bates boots. These are good, however the ones I received have some small defects, a problem I've never encountered with Bates products. The strings are too short. I barely was able to tie them. The closure tab for the zipper on the right shoe is not sewn on the seam where it should be and therefore does not velcro as it should. I have never had a problem with bates boots before, but this order is a terrible disappointment.

I started doing security at a hospital and at first these boots hurt at the end of the day. I realized I had them on a little too tight, but loosening them they were awesome. I got used to them and they're my fav! I can work 16 hr shifts with them and be completely fine!!!

I've probably spent 60+ hours in this boot doing security. I'm on my feet probably 50 of those hours. They're comfortable and it is true to size. My only quarrel is I think my right boot is a little defective. The Velcro that covers the zipper does not stay put. My pants go over my boots but I'm OCD so it bothers me. Overall a good boot.

I bought these boots recently as a smart lightweight boot for my work as a medic on a drilling rig in the North sea. I also do voluntary work for ST John ambulance and being ex Royal Navy I do occassionaly go for a rum in them. The grip is very good and the support excellent. They are also very light and have kept my feet dry in hot environments. The side zip makes them very easy to take off (especially at my age). I will be reccomending them to my mates. I would prefer a hard toe cap for safety and may get a pair of Bates with a hard toe cap as a comparison in the near future. I am very pleased so far.

The shoelaces that came with the boots are too short to lace all the way to the top and tie adequately. The bottom part of the boot seems ok. I went with my normal shoe size because many reviews said they are true to size, but I may have been able to go a half size smaller. On both boots there are parts that are kind of digging into the front of my ankle no matter how loose I tie them. I've had them about a week and still trying to break them in to see if I could survive a whole day in them.

The boots are great. They are true to size and comfortable to walk in. They are quick and easy to put on. But what I was more impressed was their customer service. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was so pleasant. I was worried about my boots being delivered on time. A customer representative would call or update me on my order. Safe to say I will continue to order from them again.

These are GREAT boots. I work 16hr days through the summer and the winter. The only problem I have with these boots are the soles of my boots are coming off after only one year of working in them. They breath well and have great support when on your feet extended periods of time. They just need to last longer.

They fit true to size. The upper part of the boot is padded, which I don't really care for, but maybe I will change my mind once I break them in. Very comfortable otherwise. Like the other reviews, the laces are barely long enough to tie.
